Wonderful Indian Summer

What can I say I have nothing to say except we are having a lovely Indian Summer. Our fuju persimmons are becoming ripe and should be ready to harvest in about 3 or 4 weeks. Makes me wonder if they will stop the traffic again this fall.
We are having a craft sale at the Senior Center soon and I have been making the most fun jewelry with seeds and fake berries.
We have new neighbors. I took them a picture of lemon tea on moving day. They brought the picture and ice bucket back last night. they sat down and talked for a while, come to find out they are from Chicago but were born in Xalappa Mexico, one of our favorite places in Mexico. It was fun reminiscing about our favorite places in Mexico. I think they are going to be good neighbors. Be Blessed

Spilt Milk

I don’t mean to complain, but when you go way out your way to do something really fine to express how you feel and then you are sorely disappointed, It bites. I went on line and spent a lot of time trying to find a florist in the town of Laverne Oklahoma, the place of the funeral. The lovely flower were to be at the visitation, but were not! But when I did see the arrangement I was so disappointed and embarrassed. I trusted them to do, what I wasn’t there to do. However the arrangement was nothing more than the filler and a color note that the florist put in the basket before the blossoms are placed in the final hour before delivery. There wasn’t even a bow. Even yet when I complained to the florist he more or less said tuff luck. He could have said well let me send a plant to the house or something to appeased the customer. Well I have learned my lesson. I won’t order on line again. Tell me- What you have done.
We went to Oklahoma, and we went as a family to my husband’s sister’s funeral. It was long trip but we enjoyed each other’s company.
I can’t wait to go to my art class I miss them, as we have such a good time.
Oh I have found another seed to experiment with. They are from our magnolia tree. They are bright red. I don’t know what color they will be when they dry. We have had the tree for about 20 years but I had never noticed the seeds in the cone. Well my grandmother would have said “Learn. Learn, something everyday”, then when you did she would say “Now see there the day is not wasted”
Be Blessed.

Making Other Plans

This has been a strange week. We had plans to go to Oklahoma for a 50th wedding annivaesary celebration, and a visit with our beloved sister and her family. We were then going to travel to south Texas and on thr way we were going to visit a life long friend. While on the way we were going to stop off in San Antonio to attend my senior class reunion. Then we were going to travel on to Brownsville to visit with my husbands younger brother. Then we got a phone call on Sunday morning from a niece that her mother (the sister we had planned to visit) had died Saturday night. That sent all our plans out the window. Well life is what happens while we are making other plans. Give us your prayers, Of course I haven't been creative at all. Hopefully things will be better next week. So be Blessed

I Love September

September I love September, it is the beginning of fall when all the pretty colors begin to appear, and I cannot resist picking up pretty colored leaves. It makes me want to whoop out my paint brush, and sharpen pencils.

I am reminded of the first days of school; it always rains here in Texas. Then you just know fall is in the air. I can remember when my son was just a little freckled faced boy bursting into the kitchen saying “It here” and I ask what and he grinned and breathed deep said “FALL” You can image it so if you had ever lived thru a Texas summer. Sometimes it gets so hot you could fry eggs on the sidewalk, although I never have> I love sitting out on the patio with my morning coffee, listening to the birds and watching the squirrels, when the weather begins to cool off
I haven’t been very creative this week. But I am about to start up my “Teaching Creative” classes again. I am going to teach it a little bit differently this fall. I plan to go thru the same lessons but, use the same image so the students can see clearly what each lesson is all about.
Be Blessed
