2014 8th Bead Soup Blog Party
I did enjoy the soup sent to me by Amber Dawn
I have however been able to design a few pieces with the
lovely Bead Soup that Amber Dawn sent me. Thank you Amber. I took the lamp work
beads with the large holes and strung them on a nickel silver chain. I used one
of my own fused Dichotic glass pieces as the focal for this piece. Now, onward.
I used the fuchsia Lycra circles by putting the Swaorvski crystals and brass
bead spacers to form a bracelet. I used the handmade toggle on this piece. Now, to the fun beads in my soup. Amber sent
me the most delightful clay beads. One was a birthday cake. One was a cup of
tea with lemon, Then there were two black ones with yellow roses. I guess the
‘Yellow Roses of Texas’ :^). She sent one heart with script of Eternal Love on
it, and a glass heart. Whuee. There were several fun beads and glass beads. I
had a really good time designing these pieces.

Busy As A Bee
Just a little blog to let you know we are still
breathing. After my husband’s stroke we
have been living in a circus. He fell down 4 flights of concrete steps into the
street. Some kind soul called 911. He
was rushed to the ER. There was a 3 day stay in the Hospital. He was released
at noon on Sunday. I took him home for Home Health, but when I stopped at our
gate he opened the car door and blacked out and fell in the street in the back
of our home. I called 911 again. Another 3 days at the hospital. He was then
released to Skilled Nursing for another 14 days. He has now been home 2 weeks.
We have Dr.s appointments everyday and home health nursing coming every day. So
you see how beading has not been at the top of my agenda.
Sunday April 27th the day my granddaughter was dedicated to the LORD
I have however been able to design a few pieces with the
lovely Bead Soup that Amber Dawn sent me. Thank you Amber.I will see Ya Tomorrow.

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I AM STILL HERE
This is what I sent to my bead partner. Glass beads, silver plate wire pewter leaf toggle and semi precious stone beads and a focal of silver and agate I think I have been on a merry-go-round for most of this year. My husband has had two strokes in three weeks. And my computer has been an absolute pain in the 'pattoie' And I have been a taxi for my daughter in love with our grand daughter. Which I love doing. But I can tell you that beading has not been on the top of my bucket list. However I did sign-up for the 2014 Bead soup Blog Hop. My partner is Amber Dawn from Inventive soul. She makes the most adorable clay beads. Just lovely I think we will have a 'Tea Party' with the little cakes and tea cups pastry and bling-bling. Some of her clay beads are incrusted with diamond like sparkle. Here is what she sent.

HELLO AGAIN
It has been a while since I have written a blog. My life took a different turn, when at my advanced age my first grandchild was born in April 3 ’13. She is wonderful and I am entirely smitten. She has the 23rd chromosome, meaning that she has Downs. She had open heart surgery in July so he had a slow start. She is now 10 months old and just wonderful, and funny. We call her our little clown, for she keeps us laughing. She has had several overnights with grandma and grandpa. In November I kept her for 5 days while mommy and daddy had their second honeymoon. Then we had again in January for 5 days when mommy and daddy had the flu. My daughter-in-love has not gotten her driver’s license so I have been taking her and the baby to appointments. I am happy to do so. It gives me a sense of usefulness.
What with all the changes in my life I thought it wise to retire from my volunteer position as painting teacher. A position I have had for 14 years. I wanted to be free to be available when needed to take my grandchild to any time that was needed.

I have also been enjoying making things for my grandchild. I have written 6 books for her. I have made her teaching toys.
I made hand puppets hoping to help
with verbiage. As of today my granddaughter is mute. We got her, her first
library card two weeks ago. Her mother is an avid reader. She puts my
granddaughter to bed for a nap and night time with the alphabet playing on the
computer. I belive she will be a very clever little girl.

OUR MIRACLE
I don’t know how long it has been since I wrote a blog, but I can tell you it has been an interesting ride. We had our first grandchild born on April 3rd. She was born with a birth defect. She had two huge holes in her heart that were convoluted. So we have had to be so careful not to tire her. The Doctors wanted to wait until she had some weight on her before they did surgery. The surgery would in tell them to use the flesh around her heart to build the walls in her heart. At age 3 months six days she went to the amazing Cooks Children’s Hospital here in Fort Worth Texas. She had the top man in his field to do the surgery. Dr. Tam is the most down to earth kind and humble man with amazing skill. When you think about it, it is a scary thing to give over your baby to surgery, Much less open heart surgery. What amazed me when it was over and I began to reflect back was the amazing peace we felt during the 7and half hours of waiting, was the absolute peace. Keira and we were on the hearts of thousands around the globe. We felt like the ‘Lifebuoy ‘ad in the ‘70’s we felt like we were walk 18 inches off the floor, in a pot of honey. That is the peace we felt. Knowing that all was going to be well, and our little granddaughter would grow up to be a beautiful amazing person, with a brand new heart.
